Maruti Ignis now available with AGS for top spec Alpha variant for Rs. 7.01 lakh

The petrol powerplant on the Ignis comes in the form of a 1.2L, VVT engine which produces 81hp at 6000rpm and generates 113Nm of torque at 4200rpm. Maruti's Fiat sourced 1.3L DDiS 190 diesel mill generates 74hp at 4000rpm and 190Nm at 2000rpm. Both engines have now been made available with Maruti's AGS 5-speed automatic transmission on the top spec Alpha trim.

R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Our premium urban compact vehicle IGNIS has been created for millennials, a none of a kind brand in the Indian market. Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) on the IGNIS, so far offered in the Delta and Zeta trims, has been widely appreciated by customers and accounts for 27% of IGNIS sales. We are now offering AGS in the top trim as well – IGNIS Alpha. We expect this to strengthen brand IGNIS and enhance the popularity of AGS amongst millennials.”
