Czech auto manufacturer Skoda has finally
introduced the updated version of their popular Octavia model to the Indian
market. The new Octavia facelift has been launched with a one nation one price
tag of Rs. 15,49,405 (Customer Price All India). Skoda has introduced some
comprehensive updates to the exteriors and added a few new features as well. On

Skoda has introduced new LED headlamps and
DRLs on the Octavia. The DRLs also double up as turn indicators while the LED
headlamps get an adaptive lighting function. The front grille, bumper and fog
lamps have also been revised. Moving over to the rear, Skoda has updated the
tail lamps with new 'C' shaped LED lamps. The biggest change on the inside
comes in the form of an 8' touch screen infotainment setup which gets smart link
connectivity and navigation as well. The Czech auto major has added a touch of
class and included a segment first LED ambient lighting setup with 10 colour
options on the new Octavia. The sedan also gets front and rear footwell
illumination and a 12 way power adjusted driver seat with 3 memory storage
Powering this new saloon are the same 1.4L
and 1.8L TSI petrol engines and a 2.0L TDI diesel engine. The 1.8L petrol
however gets a multi-element link axle which sees an increase in the rear track
by 30mm while the 1.4L and 2.0L variants get a compound link crank axle which
get an increase of 20mm in the rear track. The increase improves the vehicles
stability and control. Skoda has included a hill hold function, Handsfree
parking and ibuzz driver fatigue alert warning system on the new Octavia.
