India Kawasaki Motors has launched the middle-weight Z800 at an attractive price of Rs 8.05lakh (ex showroom Delhi). The inline 4-cylinder engine displaces 806cc and produces 111bhp of maximum power at 10,200rpm. A peak torque figure of 83Nm and strong low and mid range spread ensures usable performance throughout the rev-range. The styling is aggressive with most of the visual mass concentrated to the front and a tiny tail section. The instrument cluster is minimalistic with a level style tachometer, fuel gauge and an Economical Riding Indicator.
The Z800 has a natural riding posture to ease city riding and comfort for long trips as well. The braking force comes from dual 310mm petal discs up front and a single 250mm petal disc at the rear, both from Nissin. For sure footed braking in wet and slippery conditions, the Z800 comes with Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS). The Kawasaki Z800 will be retailed through the newly set-up exclusive Kawasaki dealership located in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. All CBU (completely built units) will be retailed through the dealership, including the Kawasaki ZZR1400 (ZX-14R), Ninja ZX-10R, Z1000, Ninja 1000 and now the Z800.
