Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SIMPL), launched the new GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R in India. The company has launched the GSX-R1000 for Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the GSX-R1000R for Rs. 22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Suzuki claims these bikes to be the lightest and fastest GSX-R models ever made.
The new GSX-R1000 comes in as a brand new model with a new design and styling philosophy which also enhances the motorcycles aerodynamics. Suzuki has installed a new engine on the GSX-R1000 which is smaller and lighter, the new motor gives these bikes an increased and broader power range. These new engines also boast of Suzuki's MotoGP machine derived Suzuki Racing Variable Valve Timing. The Japanese stalwart has also implemented a new chassis which is more compact and slimmer.
Bolted on to the new chassis are Showa Big Piston Forks and Suzuki has also made use of Brembo monoblock front caliper and Bridgestone RS10 Radial Tyres. The GSX-R1000 also gets a 6-direction IMU which is further aided by a 10 level Motion Track TCS (Traction Control System), Motion Track Braking System with ABS, LED Headlamps and Tail lamps along with a full LCD instrument cluster.
Suzuki has also added features like Launch Control, Bi-directional Quick Shifter, Showa Balance Free Suspension, Lean ABS and LED Position Lamps on the new GSX-R1000R. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL, said, "This is the most advanced and most exciting Suzuki GSX-R in history". The GSX-R1000 will be available in Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Mat Black while the GSX-R1000R will be available in Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black.
