Despite the presence of some great models like the Dominar 400 and the KTM motorcycles, Bajaj Auto recorded negative growth in domestic sales for the month of March 2017 of (-) 14 per cent with sales of 151449 units as compared to 176778 units in March 2016. Exports recorded a 6 per cent growth at 92,786 units as compared to 87,461 units in March 2016. The overall growth (domestic sales + exports) degrew by (-) 8 per cent in the month of March.
When it comes to commercial vehicles, the domestic sales stood at 17830 units (27493 units, a degrowth of (-) 35pc. Exports of commercial vehicles stood at 10132 units (14058 units (-) 28pc
When it came to the 2016-17 fiscal, the company sold 20,01,391 (18,98,957) units of motorcycles in the domestic market, a growth of 5pc. Exports of motorcycles during the year stood at 12,18,541 units (14,59,295) a fall of (-) 16 per cent.
