Ducati India launched their new cruiser styled motorcycle the XDiavel in India for a starting price of Rs. 15,87,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike will be available across the five Ducati dealerships in India along with the XDiavel S which has been launched for Rs. 18,47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The XDiavel comes packed with technology and safety features, apart from winning the Red Dot Award for 'Best of the Best' in product design.
The XDiavel is powered by a 1262cc, Testastretta DVT engine which puts out 156bhp and achieves peak torque at 5000rpm. Ducati bikes previously never featured a belt drive, however the XDiavel brings in the technology as a first for Ducati, in a bid to reduce maintenance. The engine has been mated to a 6-speed gearbox and features an oil-bath clutch with slipper function. The XDiavel also comes with ride-by-wire technology which enables three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban). The bike also comes with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), cornering ABS and Ducati Power Launch (DPL).
Keeping things contemporary, the XDiavel also has a TFT screen with four different display modes. The bike also features a three-way adjustable feet-forward riding position and cruise control. Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, "Cruisers are the largest segment in the luxury motorcycle category in India. We wanted to enter this segment with a product that revolutionises the cruiser concept. The XDiavel achieves that with its perfect blend of futuristic styling, state of the art technology and an engine that has been meticulously designed to the very last detail".
