Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India launched their much awaited CB Hornet 160R on December 8, 2015 as a part of their promise of 15 in 2015. The CB Hornet was first showcased at Honda’s RevFest in August and ever since has been creating a buzz in the market. The bike is available in showrooms across India for Rs. 79,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The CB Hornet is powered by a 163cc, single cylinder, air cooled, 4-stroke engine which produces 15.6bhp and 14.76Nm of torque. The engine has been mated to a 5-speed transmission and can achieve a top speed of 110kmph. The bike rides on a diamond frame with a telescopic front suspension and a monoshock in the rear. The engine is powered Honda’s HET (Honda Eco Technology) which provides added torque and a good mileage.
The CB Hornet is also fitted with Honda’s CBS (Combi Brake System) which facilitates excellent stopping power using both front and rear brakes. The CBS version of the bike gets a 276mm Disc for the front and a 220mm Disc in the rear. The bike has also been equipped with a 3 pot caliper to maintain braking efficiency. The bike rides on 100/80 R17 tubeless tyres in the front and 140/70 R17 tubeless tyres in the rear which give the Hornet a neat stance.
