Ducati India announced the launch of two groundbreaking off-road motorcycles in India: the Desmo450 MX Factory and the Desmo450 EDX. The Ducati Desmo450 EDX is priced at INR 18,55,000 (Ex-Showroom India) in Ducati Red, while the highly exclusive, race-ready Desmo450 MX Factory is priced at INR 21,26,000 (Ex-Showroom India) in the dedicated Ducati Corse 2025 Livery. Bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships in India.
Developed directly from Ducati's championship-winning racing pedigree and drawing from the brand's experience in MotoGP and Superbike, these motorcycles represent a new frontier for Ducati in India. Designed to cater to both professional racers and passionate off-road enthusiasts, the Desmo450 MX Factory is built to dominate the motocross track, while the Desmo450 EDX is engineered to conquer cross-country and rugged enduro trails.
The Heart of a Champion: Desmodromic Engine At the core of both motorcycles is the revolutionary 449.6 cc single-cylinder engine featuring Desmodromic valve timing—the very same system used on all Ducati racing bikes, including the MotoGP Desmosedici. This allows the engine to rev higher and deliver an unprecedented linear power curve. The engine produces a maximum output of 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Impressively, 70% of the maximum torque is available from just 4,200 rpm, ensuring explosive acceleration out of corners and making the bikes incredibly responsive yet less tiring to ride. The rev limiter is set at a category-benchmark 11,900 rpm.
Desmo450 MX Factory: Race-Ready Motocross Dominance Designed for riders looking for a bike equipped with everything needed to line up at the gate, the Desmo450 MX Factory is the ultimate motocross weapon. Weighing just 104 kg without fuel, the Factory version utilizes a lightweight aluminum perimeter frame and is fitted with high-level racing components. It features a complete Akrapovic titanium exhaust system with dedicated engine mapping to reduce weight and improve power delivery. The top-tier Showa suspension includes Dark Kashima coating on the fork legs and TiO superfinishing to offer unmatched smoothness and resistance to wear. Additional racing upgrades include billet Factory triple clamps, a standard holeshot device for superior race starts, and the special Ducati Corse 2025 livery.
Desmo450 EDX: The Ultimate Enduro Companion Based on the championship-winning foundation of the MX, the Desmo450 EDX has been specifically adapted for the disciplines of Enduro and Cross-Country riding. To handle long distances, it features an increased 8.5-litre fuel tank connected to a specifically designed seat and shrouds. The chassis is tuned for the trails, highlighted by an 18-inch rear wheel fitted with Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid-Soft tires, and specially tuned closed-cartridge Showa suspension tailored to absorb rough, unpredictable terrain. Out of the box, the EDX is ready for the harshest environments with handguards, a skid plate, and a side stand included as standard equipment.
Advanced Electronics for Total Control Ducati sets a new standard for off-road electronics with a genuine closed-loop traction control system. The Ducati Traction Control (DTC) calibrates power cut-off based on actual rear-wheel slippage, ensuring effective, prompt, and linear intervention. The intelligent system can automatically identify jumps to disengage itself and allows riders to temporarily bypass the system with a slight pull of the clutch lever. The comprehensive electronic suite on both models also features Launch Control, Engine Brake Control (EBC), and a standard Ducati Quickshifter (DQS), along with dedicated Power and Riding Modes to adapt to varying track and trail conditions.
