Luxury motorcycle brand Ducati announced the launch of the new Hypermotard V2 and Hypermotard V2 SP in India, a motorcycle that embodies the purest essence of riding fun. Developed to dominate both urban streets and the racetrack, the Hypermotard V2 offers enthusiasts the pinnacle of supermotard performance, incorporating an entirely new technical base and a futuristic design that projects the legendary "Hyper" legacy into a new era. The Ducati Hypermotard V2 is priced at INR 16 53 000 (Ex-Showroom India) in Ducati Red, while the highly exclusive Hypermotard V2 SP is priced at INR 20 78 000 (Ex-Showroom India) in the dedicated SP Livery. Bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships in India.
The new Hypermotard V2 is the latest evolution of a legendary saga that began with the EICMA 2005 prototype, which won "Best of Show" on its debut. Twenty years later, this fourth generation remains the most exclusive and adrenaline-fueled model in Ducati's fun-bike lineup. It reinterprets its distinctive styling cues such as the double-wing fuel tank, streamlined front end, and dual under-seat exhausts with an extremely compact, modern execution that conveys lightness at first glance.
The lightest Ducati V2 engine- The heart of the Hypermotard V2 is the new 890 cc Ducati V2 engine, designed to deliver immediate thrills. It is the lightest twin-cylinder ever produced by Ducati, weighing just 54.4 kg. Delivering a maximum power of 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and a peak torque of 94 Nm at 8,250 rpm, the engine utilizes the IVT variable intake valve timing system to ensure a prompt, generous response across the entire rev range. Impressively, 70% of maximum torque is available at just 3,000 rpm, guaranteeing explosive acceleration out of corners. When paired with the racing exhaust, power increases by an additional 3.6 hp and weight is reduced by a further 4 kg.
Revolutionary monocoque chassis & ergonomics- The Hypermotard V2 introduces a monocoque frame that utilizes the engine as a structural element. This innovation, along with a new double-sided aluminium swingarm, results in a remarkable weight reduction of 13 kg for the standard V2 and 14 kg for the SP version, compared to the previous generation. The riding position is commanding and supermotard-inspired, with footpegs moved forward and wide handlebars. The V2 SP is even more specialized, equipped with premium fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, Brembo M50 calipers and forged aluminium wheels that significantly reduce inertia for lightning-fast directional changes. Additionally, the seat height has been optimized to 880 mm, making the motorcycle more accessible to a wider range of riders.
Advanced electronics for total control - The Hypermotard V2 is equipped with a latest-generation electronics package based on a 6-axis inertial measurement platform (IMU). The suite includes Cornering ABS with a "Slide by Brake" function—allowing riders to safely execute supermotard-style drifts into corners—alongside Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), and Engine Brake Control (EBC). Gear changes are handled by the new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, providing a more direct and precise feel. All systems are managed through a stunning new 5” full-TFT dashboard featuring three specific Info Modes: Road, Road Pro, and Track. The top-tier V2 SP also features Ducati Power Launch and a Pit Limiter as standard equipment.
