The eagerly anticipated Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M are finally here in India and they can be yours for Rs. 22,34,300/- and Rs. 29,43,100/- respectively. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
The bike will be powered by a 1 litre, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line four- cylinder engine with a 4-valve system with a crossplane crankshaft. The engine produces 200bhp which is approximately 18bhp more than what you get from the previous R1 even though the engine’s physical size has been compressed by reducing the width by 34mm and weight reduction of 4 kgs. On top of the engine is a 17 litre aluminium lightweight fuel tank which is newly designed for better flexibility of rider position. The wheels on the R1 are lightweight cast magnesium wheels for further weight reduction. The high-end YZF-R1M is also equipped with an electronically controlled suspension, lightweight carbon fairing and a digital interface that records valuable racing information.
The Yamaha YZF-R1 will be available in two new colours; Deep Purple Blue metallic C and Vivid Red Cocktail. The R1M variant is available in Bluish White Metallic two-tone colour for the added price. Both bikes will be imported on order.
