The Gixxer SF
will be powered by the same Suzuki SEP engine found in the standard Gixxer. The
155cc single cylinder, 4 stroke air cooled SOHC engine delivers 15bhp@8000rpm
and torque of 14Nm@6000rpm, unfortunately the carburettor stays on to deliver
the fuel to the engine instead of instead of fuel injectors. The engine is mated
to a 5 speed manual transmission while the front suspension is Telescopic with
a Swing arm mono suspension at the rear. The front brakes are a single disc
while the rear is gripped by a traditional drum. The front tyre is 100/80R17
and the rear is 140.60R17 MRF tubeless as standard.
Suzuki has
gone to great lengths to make the Gixxer SF as aerodynamic as possible to gain
maximum efficiency and squeeze out every ounce of performance from the engine.
The Gixxer SF was developed and designed at Suzuki’s wind tunnel in Japan where
the legendary Hayabusa and the GSX-R was developed. The same facility is used
to develop the companies MotoGP contenders. The aero dynamic design of the bike
has been focused to give maximum wind protection to the rider, while reducing
turbulence and drag which results in greater downforce and efficiency.
Suzuki will
offer the bike in 2 different colours, Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage
White, as standard at base price of Rs. 83,439/-. If you shell out Rs. 2,000/-
Suzuki will provide the Gixxer SF with their Metallic Triton Blue with Suzuki
livery inspired by their traditional MotoGP livery to commemorate their return
to the sport.
Atul Gupta,
Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd stated: “We have won
customer hearts with the Gixxer. We are confident that the Gixxer SF too will
thrill young buyers across India and further strengthen our market position.”
