After cashing in on a highly successful year in India, Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its Adventure motorcycles range with the launch of the Tiger XRx for Rs.11.6 lakh and the Tiger XCx for Rs.12.7 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
The Tiger XRx and XCx are powered by a liquid cooled, DOHC 3 cylinder 800cc engine. With a max power output of 93bhp, the engine delivers 79Nm of torque at 7850rpm. The XRx variant is set up for everyday road use, while the XCx is kitted out for those who like to ride off-road as the crow flies. Triumph has been known for being the leaders in terms of technology offered on two wheelers across the globe; the Tigers are treated similarly.
With features like Ride by Wire technology making power delivery smother than before, Triumph Traction Control (TTC), switchable ABS and first in class inclusion of cruise control, the Tigers are also equipped with WP Suspension on the XCx for better off-road capabilities. In addition, the two Tigers also come with different riding modes – road, off road and programmable rider more where the rider can set up the bikes dynamics individually. Adding to these the bikes also have 4 different throttle maps – rain, road, sport and off-road at the rider’s disposal.
Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India said, “Over the last one year, we have seen a growing interest in the adventure category. The Tiger range is among the most revered motorcycles across the world in its category. To address this emerging need in the Indian market, we have launched the Tiger XRx & Tiger XCx. To give an excellent value proposition, the new Tiger’s will be assembled locally through the CKD route in India.”
Triumph Motorcycles India has been pulling away from its competition with record sales of over 1300 units sold in its first year. With a huge demand of the Tiger range in the country, the adventure bikes will come into India as CKD units, assembled at their facility in Haryana, thus bringing the prices of the motorcycles down significantly. Triumph also announced that the tiger range in India will start from a price of Rs.10.5 lakh with another entry model which is to be launched soon.
