FIAT Group Automobiles India Private Limited (FGAIPL) has inaugurated its first stockyard at Ranjangaon, Pune. The stockyard, designed and constructed by FIAT’s logistics partner Mercurio Pallia, is spread across an area of 12 acres within the Ranjangaon Industrial premises and in close proximity to FIAT’s manufacturing plant. It has the capacity to house 2,000 cars at any given point of time. At the onset, the stockyard will cater to the incumbent Fiat Linea and Fiat Punto models. In due course of time it will store cars from the FIAT and the Chrysler group as and when they are introduced in the Indian market. In order to ensure that the cars are stored in impeccable condition, the storage area is paved with concrete paver block. The stockyard also comprises of a separate loading area to allow loading of cars into car carrier trailors.
