Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles continued to dominate the electric passenger vehicles segment in May 2026 auto retails as it recorded 10,340 units as compared to 5083 units in May 2025. That is an 103.42pc YOY growth. This data was provided by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India (FADA).
Mahindra & Mahindra remains a number two player with 6210 units for May this year while JSW MG Motor India is No. 3 with 4984 units.
In totality, the EV passenger vehicle segment grew by 81.20 pc with total sales of 26,682 units (14,725). Among those who recorded negative growth were Hyundai Motor India, Volvo Auto India and Stellantis.
Vinfast Auto India remained a No. 5 player with steady sales of 1238 units, just behind Maruti Suzuki which recorded sales of 1591 units for May 2026.
As far as electric two wheelers are concerned, TVS Motor COmpany and Bajaj Auto dominate the segment. While TVS grew by 64.54 pc in May 2026 with 42,459 units, Bajaj Auto grew by 73.14pc at 39,202 units. Standalone electric two wheeler maker Ather Energy was in position 3 with 28,240 units and an impressive 100.27 pc.
