The electric passenger vehicle segment sales in the domestic market grew by a whopping 75.14 per cent in the month of April 2026, as compared to April 2025. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) led the segment with a 77.17 per cent growth. This was revealed in the Vehicle Retail Data for April'26 released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).
In April 2026, TMPV sold 8543 units as compared to 4822 units in April 2025. In the same period, Mahindra & Mahindra sold 5413 units (3301 units). In third position stood JSW MG Motor India with 5006 units (3777 units). Surprisingly, Vietnam based Vinfast Auto, a relatively new entrant, has proved to be a formidable force in the electric passenger vehicle segment. It stood fourth in the list with 1232 units.
As for the electric two wheelers segment, sales in the domestic market grew by 60.73 per cent in the month of April 2026, as compared to April 2025. TVS Motor Company took the top slot with 88.64 per cent growth with sales of 37,683 units in April 2026 as compared to 19976 units in April 2025. Bajaj Auto was No. 2 with 32898 units (19162 units).
