Barring Volvo Auto, Stellantis Automobiles India and Mercedes-Benz India, almost all other electric passenger vehicle manufacturers showed positive growth in sales for the financial year 2025-26 as compared to the previous fiscal. The electric passenger vehicle industry grew by as much as 83.63 per cent in FY 26 as compared to the previous fiscal, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) Vehicle Retail Data for March'26 and FY 2025-26.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sold 78,811 units of electric passenger vehicles, recording a growth of 35.90 per cent. Mahindra & Mahindra, Kia India and BMW India grew by as much as 407pc, 794pc and 123pc respectively.
When it comes to electric two wheelers, this industry grew by as much as 21.81 per cent overall during this period at 14,01,818 units (11,50,790). The two companies which recorded negative growth were Ola Electric and Revolt Intellicorp. Leading the group of companies that recorded positive growth was TVS Motor Company that sold 3,41,513 units (237929).
