Leading EV powertrain manufacturer Tsuyo Manufacturing announced the launch of next-generation electric motor and powertrain technologies with superior performance and efficiency. The launch comes as a big boost to India's electric light commercial vehicle markets. The new portfolio highlights Tsuyo's emphasis on superior performance, modular product design, deep engineering, and Make-in-India innovation.
The highlight of the announcement is Tsuyo’s Gen 3.0 IPM motor and controller architecture, engineered to deliver improved thermal management, easier servicing, and enhanced durability for EV applications. The design innovations, like external Hall sensor placement and split-phase cabling, improve reliability and heat dissipation, an aluminium cast controller housing delivers superior thermal performance, external boot loader access simplifies software updates, and an LED-based fault indication system makes diagnostics simpler. It also features an upgraded Mosfet technology to support premium and high-performance electric vehicle applications.
Next in line is India’s first AMT solution for electric three-wheelers, enabling better range, improved load handling, and enhanced gradeability, making low-power motors much more versatile.
The new portfolio also includes a patented magnet-less SynRM motor, which introduces a novel rotor architecture for better performance. This reduces dependence on imported rare-earth materials, furthering the national cause of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.
The new hairpin winding technology increases motor power density, delivers up to 20% higher performance and longer motor life. Tsuyo also introduced a flat tube axle with a common gear interface, improving load capacity and simplifying parts management for L3 and Mini-L5 vehicles.

“India’s electric mobility journey, especially in the three-wheeler segment, demands solutions that are engineered for reality—not mere specifications on paper. At Tsuyo, this launch represents a decisive step in moving India’s EV ecosystem from assembly-led adoption to engineering-led innovation. Every product we are unveiling today has been designed to address the unique operating conditions, cost sensitivities, and performance expectations of Indian vehicles and end users,” said Vijay Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO, Tsuyo Manufacturing Private Limited, on the vision behind the new portfolio.
In addition to the product unveilings, Tsuyo will also host a dedicated partners’ and distributors’ meet focused on building deeper technical understanding and practical knowledge across the EV value chain. The interaction is designed to help distributors and partners better evaluate and select optimal powertrain and power source solutions, while underscoring the importance of design modularity, strong after-sales support, and the long-term advantages of a local, Make-in-India supply chain. The session will also feature perspectives from industry voices, offering participants insights into both the real and latent needs of end users, and exploring how stakeholders across the EV ecosystem can collaboratively address challenges to develop niche, scalable, and sustainable solutions for India’s evolving electric mobility landscape.
