According to the latest electric passenger car retail sales data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), Tata Motors continues to lead the pack with 70,004 units in calendar year 2025 as compared to 61,799 units in CY ’24. This is a 13.28 per cent increase in EV sales for the company.
The retail figures as per FADA research, do not have the figures from Telangana state (TS) and the vehicle retail data has been collated as on Jan 1, 2026 in collaboration with Morth, Government of India, and has been gathered from 1401 out of 1459 RTOs in the country.
As per FADA, JSW MG Motor India sold a staggering 51,387 units in CY ’25 as compared to a mere 21,814 units in the previous year. This is a whopping 135.57 % increase Year on Year.
The other OEMs that did well on the EV passenger cars space are Mahindra & Mahindra with 33,513 units, Hyundai Motor India with 6,726 units, BYD India 5402 units, BMW India 3195 units, Kia 2730 units, Mercedes Benz India 1168 units, Stellantis 871 units (among the two companies to post negative sales. It hard recorded 1925 units the previous year ), Vinfast Auto India 826 units, Volvo Auto India 389, Tesla India Motors and Energy 225 units.
