The festive cheer dovetailed with GST 2.0 that resulted in vehicle prices being cut by thousands and lakhs of rupees, resulted in not only a good September, but also a bombastic October for car manufacturers. Leading car makers like Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India, Kia India, JSW MG Motor India and several others saw record sales of passenger cars for October 2025, vis a vis October 2024.
MARUTI SUZUKI SALES IN OCTOBER 2025
In October 2025, Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 220,894 units, which is its highest-ever monthly sales volume. Domestic sales reached an all-time high of 180,675 units. The sales to other OEM were at 8,915 units and exports were at 31,304 units. The sales figures for October 2025 are given below:

HYUNDAI MOTOR INDIA REPORTS TOTAL SALES OF 69,894 UNITS
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) achieved total monthly sales of 69,894 units in October 2025. This includes monthly domestic sales of 53,792 units and exports of 16,102 units.
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director & Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “October 2025 was a month driven by the festivals of Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali, further complimented by the positive impact of GST 2.0 reforms. This provided a significant boost to the Indian automotive industry. At Hyundai Motor India, we witnessed robust market demand and high consumer enthusiasm leading to second highest monthly sales of our formidable SUV duo – the Hyundai CRETA and VENUE combined, with 30,119 units sold. We expect to accelerate this momentum with the upcoming launch of all-new Hyundai Venue, which is already open for bookings. With its refreshed design, advanced premium features and segment-leading technology and safety, we are confident that the all-new Hyundai Venue will redefine benchmarks in the compact SUV space.”
MAHINDRA AUTO RECORDS HIGHEST EVER SUV SALES OF 71624 VEHICLES
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) announced that its overall auto sales for the month of October 2025 stood at 120,142 vehicles, a growth of 26% including exports.
In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 71624 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 31% and overall, 73890 vehicles, including exports. The domestic sales for Commercial Vehicles stood at 31741, a growth of 14%.
According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “In October, we achieved SUV sales of 71,624 units, a growth of 31%, which is the highest SUV sales we have clocked ever in a month! The total vehicle sales stand at 120,142 units, a 26% growth compared to the same month last year. October also saw the launch of the new editions of Thar, Bolero & Bolero Neo.”

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. sales in the domestic & international market for October 2025 stood at 61,295 units, compared to 48,423 units during October 2024.

KIA INDIA ACHIEVES ITS STRONGEST SALES MONTH SINCE MARKET ENTRY
Announcing a historic milestone, Kia India achieved its best-ever monthly sales performance in October 2025 with 29,556 units since entering the Indian market. With a robust 30% year-on-year increase over the 22,735 units sold in October 2024 marking an unprecedented sales milestone, this achievement underscores Kia’s strong and sustained momentum in India’s competitive automotive landscape.
Kia India’s strong performance is led by the Sonet, which registered its highest sale of 12,745units, emerging as the key contributor to the brand’s overall milestone. Following the trend, the recently launched Carens Clavis as well as Carens Clavis EV further accelerated the company’s growth with a record combined 8,779 units. The Seltos, Kia’s flagship SUV, continued to witness robust demand with 7,130 units, reaffirming its enduring popularity among Indian customers.
The Carens Clavis EV, Kia’s first made-in-India 7-seater mass-premium EV, has particularly stood out as a promising entrant in the EV space, receiving an encouraging response from customers and underscoring Kia’s growing strength in sustainable mobility.

Kia India has reported a strong Year-to-Date (YTD) growth of around 10%, with 236,138 units sold in 2025 so far, as against 2,15,443 units during the same period last year. The impressive performance reflects the strong consumer preference for Kia’s well-rounded and segment-performing products, supported by the recent GST reforms that improved affordability and the festive season, which further boosted buying sentiment.
JSW MG MOTOR INDIA SALES; 20% YOY GROWTH DURING AUG–OCT 2025 PERIOD
JSW MG Motor India achieved 20% year-on-year (YoY) growth in wholesales during the festive period (August–October 2025). In addition, the company achieved a YTD (Jan-Oct’25 vs Jan-Oct’24) wholesales growth of over 27%. The sustained momentum reflects steady market performance of the brand. In October 2025, the carmaker reported monthly sales of 6397 (wholesale) units.
MG SELECT retains second position in the luxury EV segment, backed by an impressive 62% month-on-month growth, highlights JSW MG Motor India’s strong position in the premium electric mobility space.
HONDA CARS INDIA REGISTERS TOTAL SALES OF 10,518 UNITS IN OCTOBER 2025
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), a leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, announced that it recorded domestic sales of 6,394 units in October 2025, marking a 15.3% growth over the same month last year, driven by strong performance of the Honda Amaze. The company also exported 4,124units, bringing its total sales to 10,518units for the month.
Sharing his thoughts on the performance, Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The festive sales and GST 2.0 announcement fuelled robust demand across our line-up of City, Amaze and Elevate during October. The Amaze being the only car under 10 lakh price segment to offer ADAS safety and smooth CVT performance has been strongly appreciated by consumers registering strong sales growth.”
In comparison, the company had registered 5,546 units in domestic sales and 4,534 units in exports during October 2024.
SKODA AUTO INDIA HITS ALL-TIME HIGH ANNUAL SALES WITHIN 10 MONTHS OF 2025
The year 2025 is a landmark year for Skoda Auto India, as it marks 25 years in the country. In October 2025, the brand crossed yet another milestone by achieving its highest-ever sales in the country. Between January and October 2025, Skoda Auto India sold 61,607 cars. Adding to this strong performance, which already included its best-ever quarterly and half-yearly sales, the brand has now recorded its highest-ever monthly sales as well, with 8,252 cars sold in October 2025.The growth is driven by Skoda Auto India’s first-ever sub-4m SUV, the Kylaq, with steady demand for the Kodiaq, Skoda’s flagship luxury 4x4, sustained contributions from the Kushaq and Slavia, and the high-performance Skoda Octavia RS getting sold out within 20 minutes.

NISSAN MOTOR INDIA CLOCKS 45% MONTH-ON-MONTH DOMESTIC SALES GROWTH
Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) reported consolidated sales of 9675 units in October 2025, marking a 45% month-on-month growth. This performance uplift reflects a strong festive demand for the New Nissan Magnite during Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali, complemented by the positive impact of the GST rate reduction announced by the Government of India.
Domestic wholesale stood at 2402 units, supported by robust demand for the New Nissan Magnite, while exports reached 7273 units, reinforcing Nissan India’s position as a global export hub. The company recently celebrated the export of its 1.2 millionth vehicle strengthening its “Make in India, Make for the World” philosophy.
