A total of 13,178 electric cars were retailed in the country in the month of June 2025, in contrast to 7323 units sold in the corresponding period last year. This translated to a growth of 79.95 per cent year on year, according to data published by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).
Tata Motors led the pack with sales of 4708 units for June 2025 as compared to 4594 units in June 2024. This was followed by JSW MG Motor India with 3972 units (1480 units). While Tata Motors grew by a mere 2.48 per cent year on years, companies like JSW MG Motor India grew by 168 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra by 523 per cent and Hyundai Motor India by 712 per cent.
TVS Motor Company led the retails sales for electric two wheelers in the country with 25,300 units as compared to 14,029 units in June 2024. A total of 1,05,355 units of electric two wheelers were sold in the country in June 2025 as compared to 80,003 units in the corresponding period last year.
