LML Electric, a company owned and controlled by Yogesh Bhatia (the man behind Detel electric bikes) has announced a strategic partnership with New Delhi based Saera Electric Auto, a sister concern of Satra Group of Companies, to produce electric two wheelers under the LML brand.
Saera Electric Auto is involved in the manufacturing of various passenger and cargo e-rickshaws, electric two-wheelers, and agricultural equipment, using green technology. The company is engaged in the manufacturing of automobile components and having clients like Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and New Holland Tractors, among others. Saera Electric Auto also produces Yogo electric two wheelers.
The group was also involved with Harley-Davidson India at its Bawal factory in Haryana where Harley-Davidson motorcycles were assembled. Harley has since shut shop in the country and sells its bikes through Hero MotoCorp outlets in a strategic alliance.
Now Seara manufacturing expertise will be used to develop the EV range of products from the LML electric stable. LML intends to build a future-ready manufacturing facility using Saera's cutting-edge technology and processes. This is the first of many steps for LML to transition into a 100% ‘Make in India’ company by end of 2025.
The manufacturing plant at Bawal, which spans 2,17,800 square feet and has a capacity of 18,000 units per month, is equipped with best-in-class infrastructure. Dr. Yogesh Bhatia, MD & CEO of LML Electric along with his core team has been in talks with global manufacturing entities seeking futuristic collaborations in product design and engineering innovations.
Bhatia says, "We are very pleased to announce this important collaboration with one of the most reputed manufacturing names in the two-wheeler and auto segment. Saera was our first choice because the company holds unparalleled expertise and reputation with some of the world's premier auto brands. At LML, we hold a strong vision with this alliance as we aspire to create a brand that is 100% localized and has an impeccable quality assurance that is world-class.”
