On NBC products being displayed at the Auto Expo 2016
We are a leading bearing
company in India and the way technology requirement are moving, we are
displaying two products which are very interesting. One is about wheel
bearings. We have introduced a product known as pre-set hubs which are used in
heavy commercial vehicles. The advantage of this product is that gives very
high maintenance free life. Currently, the conventional assembly the truck
manufacturers are using, that gives a maintenance life of around one lakh
kilometres. This particular technology gives around 3 lakh kilometres service
free. The second technology we are trying to introduce to our customers is on
two wheeler platform. What we have displayed here is a transmission technology
called IVT. Today scooters give a fuel efficiency of around 50km per litre, as
compared to a fuel efficiency of around 80 to 85 kmpl for motorcycles. Now this
particular transmission has a capability to deliver 80 to 90 kmpl on a
scooter. The scooter will now have
around the same fuel efficiency as a motorcycle. It is a very revolutionary
product. We are at the concept stage as of now. We have displayed the prototype
here. A lot of our customers have had a lot of questions on that.
On focus segments in the market
We around 80pc catering to
OEMs. Of course we are present in the aftermarket but our basic focus is on
OEMs. We are basically targeting OEMs here.
On the overall response to the Components Show
Our experience is very good.
The quality of people we are getting at the stall is excellent. Relevant people
are coming to the stall and spending quality time here. In the earlier shows,
the general public was so large that it was impossible to manage the stall. We
find that by separating the two shows, Components and Motor Show, has been very
innovative. Having said that, if both the shows had some proximity instead of a long distance, maybe a ten
minutes distance, it would have been much more convenient.
