BorgWarner is supplying its advanced 6.35 mm silent timing chain for the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine, the hatchback is available in Europe, Japan and Israel. BorgWarner’s best-in-class silent chain technology reduces friction to improve engine efficiency and fuel economy.
“BorgWarner is pleased to provide our advanced silent timing chains to Maruti Suzuki,” said Joe Fadool, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Morse Systems. “The combination of our low-friction technologies and localized manufacturing strengthen our product leadership position,” he added.
BorgWarner’s inverted tooth silent timing chain features an optimized link back design and “E” polish finish to reduce contact area and friction as the chain slides along the arms and guides of the timing drive. Lower friction improves durability and increases engine efficiency, allowing the engine to use less fuel.
