Bosch Electrical Drives India’s new unit in TN

Bosch Electrical Drives India Private Ltd., a joint venture with Igarashi Motors India Pvt. Ltd, is setting up a plant at Chennai in Tamil Nadu to produce wiper systems, engine cooling fan modules, HVAC blowers and window lift drives products. The company will invest Rs. 370 million to set up the plant, which is expected to be functional by end of 2012. Bosch Electrical Drives India at present employs 200 persons. With opening of the new plant, it is expected that nearly 350 more people will be recruited over a period of 3 years. To be built on a total area of 9,000 Sq. m with an investment of Rs. 370 million and equipped with state of the art technology the plant will aim at increased localisation of production. This facility will cater to the growing needs of the domestic market. Setting up of the plant is slated to be a significant milestone for Bosch Electrical Drives India that initiated its operations in Chennai from a leased location in 2008. "This is a milestone event not just for the electrical drives business division of Bosch in India, but a milestone from the global perspective too.
