Apollo Tyres in collaboration with Manchester United Football Club from Manchester, UK have launched their limited edition signature Manchester United tyre in India.
The Manchester United tyre will be available in 15inch rim size only with a performance centric tread pattern designed for superior handling in wet and dry conditions, shorter braking distance and low noise. The old Trafford based football club signature tyre has been tested by agencies such as IDIADA from Spain and Papenburg from Germany to deliver precise response to any unexpected steering corrections, providing maximum driving safety. The compound has been developed by Apollo Tyres at their Global R&D Centre in Enshede, The Netherlands to ensure maximum traction on wet and dry surfaces.
The tyre launch was in cohesion with the Apollo “Go the Distance” scholarship programme in the presence of Mikael Silvestre, Former Man United and French International Defender, Marco Paracciani, Chief Marketing Officer and Satish Sharma, President Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tyres.
The Scholarship programme is a collaboration between Apollo Tyres, Manchester United Football Club and Youth Football International (YFI) under the banner of Manchester United Soccer School (MUSS) to nurture young talent in India. 6 kids out of 192 participants, one from each U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 age groups, will be selected. The 6 kids will be offered a one year scholarship by Apollo Tyres for their training with youth Football International in Delhi. From the chosen 6, one lucky winner will get an opportunity to join a week-long residential training camp with the Manchester United Soccer School in the UK.
