The K-series engine that powers Maruti Suzuki’s bestsellers as WagonR, Swift, Estilo and Alto-K10 has recently attained the milestone of cumulative production of 10 lakh units. Launched in October 2008, with A-star as the flagship model, the K-series was successfully mounted on other models such as Alto K-10, WagonR, Swift, A-star & Estilo. The engine has attained this milestone in less than 33 months a record in itself with a proven track record of zero-defect outflow and zero-process warranty claim. Speaking at the roll out of the 10 lakh unit Shashank Srivastava, chief General Manager, Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India, noted, “We feel proud customers have really appreciated our offerings mounted with the next generation K-series. As market leaders we have continuously improved the technologies over the years and K-series while offering the best in refinement and performance took the engine technology to the next level in India.” Maruti Suzuki has so far produced over 350,000 units of A-star (K-10) the highest on K-series, followed by Wagon-R(K-10) with over 190,000 units, Alto K-10 (K-10) with 136,000 units, Estilo(K-10) with 105,000 units, Swift with over 124,000 units (K-12) and Ritz with over 95,000 units.
