The TVS Group has announced the passing away of P. Vijayaraghavan. “It is with profound grief and sadness that we mourn the passing and honour the life of Mr. P. Vijayaraghavan,” a company note said.
Vijayaraghavan (3rd January 1948-8th July 2020) served the TVS Group for over five glorious decades. He played a pre-eminent role in the growth of TVS Srichakra right from its founding, where he continued to be actively involved till his passing, as a Director on the Board, said the TVS press release.
As a veteran of the rubber and tyre industry, and as an active member of several industry bodies, he played a pivotal role in the growth of the sector in India.
MOTOWN INDIA EDITOR ADDS: I have personally known Mr P. Vijayaraghavan for several years. Even though we met several years ago, when I had visited the TVS Srichakra plant in south India, he insisted on calling me on my birthday every year. It was always a short and sweet phone call, wishing me and then ending the conversation with a “God Bless”. He would also send across a small box of chocolates to my house with his wishes. I can never forget this lovely gesture and will always remember him as a wonderful human being and a very capable man. May his soul rest in peace! RIP.
