Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. achieved a monument landmark today by crossing a combined production mark of 35 million units from four of their manufacturing facilities here in India.
Honda is the only two wheeler brand in the country to have exponentially grown and cross the 35 million units barrier in a span of 17 years. The company began its operations in India in the year 2001 and took 11 years to achieve production mark of 10 million units. The company managed the next 25 million customers in a matter of five and a half years.
According to a statement released to the press, the Honda is able to sell a scooter every 5 seconds. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Since the very start in 2001, Honda 2Wheelers India has led with its challenging spirit. Our first model, a scooter (Activa) activated the slowing scooter market with its advanced features and fresh design and is now leading India’s scooterization as No. 1 selling two-wheeler of India. Delighting 35 million customers with 24 products Honda 2wheelers is now reaching closer to them through a network of over 5,700 authorised touch-points.
