Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of passenger cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 12,642 units in December 2017 against 10,071 units in the corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 26%.
For December 2017, the Honda City continued to be the best seller for the company with sales of 4365 units, followed by WR-V at 3760 units. The Honda Jazz sold 1891 units, the Amaze 1415 units, the BR-V sold 880 units, the Brio sold 291 units, while the CR-V sold 40 units. Total exports for December 2017 stood at 730 units, while total domestic sales stood at 12,642 units.
The company registered a cumulative growth of 20% selling 129,964 units during April - December in 2017, against 108,522 units in the corresponding period of April – December in 2016.
When it came to calendar year 2017, the company registered a cumulative growth of 15% selling 178,755 units during the calendar year 2017 (Jan – December) against 156,107 units calendar year 2016.
The company’s best seller Honda City recorded cumulative sales of 62,573 units in full year 2017 becoming the highest selling mid-size sedan during calendar year 2017.
