The 12th Indian Car of the
Year (ICOTY) and the 10th Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) Awards were handed
out to Maruti Suzki and TVS Motor Company for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and TVS
Apache RTR 200 4V respectively in Mumbai.
The winner of the ICOTY, Maruti Suzuki Vitara
Brezza, had to contend with 18 other vehicles, who were all put through a series
of tests. Likewise, the winner of IMOTY, TVS RTR 200 4V, had to battle it out
with 11 other motorbikes. Assessments were made on the basis of agreed
parameters like price, fuel economy, styling, comfort, safety, performance,
practicality, technological innovation, value for money and suitability for
Indian riding conditions.
Dr. Raghupati Singhania,
Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Limited, presented
the awards to the winning teams.
