While the facility is still occasionally referred to as the "Nissan plant" or "Nissan factory", this is no longer factually accurate. The Chennai manufacturing facility is a Renault-owned plant that manufactures vehicles for both Renault and Nissan for domestic and export markets.
The clarification is being shared to ensure accurate reference to the facility in future communications, reports, and media coverage. This manufacturing site remains a key pillar of Renault Group's operations in India and supports the company's long-term growth, localisation, and export ambitions, the release added.
