There are several ways to pamper one self. From slipping into a bath
tub full of warm fragrant water to having cold towel rubs, there are also
things one can do like eating a hearty meal and opening the bubbly… There is
one more way to let your hair down with at least seven of your friends---Hire a
limousine from Eco Rent a Car. Initially when the company contacted me I was
skeptical of the quality ride. I assumed it would be one of those silly stretch
vehicles with some shoddy trappings inside.
But I was in for a pleasant shock when I saw the car coming towards
me on an early Sunday morning. I was standing on the Rajpath Road with the
imposing Rashtrapathi Bhawan, the official residence of the President of India,
in the background. It was a majestic sight. Then as the Chrysler 300 blue
blooded stretch limousine came up the Rajpath, I could not believe its
incredible length…it was longer than I thought…around 28 feet!
Two smartly attired men (one the driver and the other his
attendant), stepped out and greeted me. We spent some early morning quality
time shooting the vehicle with the iconic building in the background. Early
morning skaters, people on their Segway machines and morning walkers stopped
close to take a selfie. The car had become an instant hit. It’s not every other
day that you get to see a car so long.
Eco Rent a Car company makes these limos (there are two Chrysler stretch
limousines that they have) available to the general public for Rs 15,000 for up
to two hours and 20 km. Yes, you can hire them for as long as 16 hours for a
stiff rate of Rs 101000 and be driven around Delhi. The attendant informed me
that the car is a hit during the wedding season, especially in places like Rajasthan
and Punjab. Transporting the car outside Delhi comes at an additional cost.

After the shoot it was time to get in. I felt like a rich spoilt sheikh.
As I stepped in I saw opulence at its best. The long cushioned seats and an
array of glasses stacked on one side hinted at how eventful a small party would
be inside the car. Anywhere from two hours to eight hours, eight friends or
members of a family can enjoy a mini party within the confines of this air-conditioned
limo. The overhead tiny colourful LED lights gave the much needed romantic
touch to the entire ambience.
While the driver drove the limousine down the Rajpath road and around
the India Gate, I felt like the riches Sheikh in town. All that was missing was
the exciting harem…and the oil soaked wealth! It was fun nevertheless and with
friends around you in the limo, it could be an adventure sloshed in romance and
fun!
