Mahindra has sold over 100,000 units of their XUV 500 model in three years time. Thus XUV500 becomes India’s first SUV priced over Rs.10lakhs, to achieve this milestone in the shortest period of time of 35 months since its launch.
Designed in house at Mahindra’s own R&D in Chennai, the XUV500 has won numerous awards and has won several motorsport events in the Indian National Rally Championship and Dakshin Dare on home turf and also participated in the ASEAN-India Car Rally held across eight countries.
With the cheetah-inspired styling, the XUV500 has 1.7 million plus Facebook fans as well as more than 9.6 million video views on the XUV500 You Tube channel. The vehicles are sold in countries like Australia, South Africa, Italy and some South American and African markets. The XUV500 is now poised to make its mark in other international markets.
