Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), has launched the new 2017 edition of the moto-scooter Dio with new style, colours, convenience and BS-IV and AHO compliance. Launched in 2002, Honda’s Dio moto-scooter has the aggressive looks of motorcycle with convenience of a scooter. Dio customer family is now over 17.5 lakh strong. Honda’s Dio is not only India’s 3rd largest selling scooter but also the No.1 exported scooter from India and also the No. 1 export model for Honda 2Wheelers India.
The new Dio gets a new look and new features that include a new V-shape edgy front LED position lamp. The sporty looks of the new Dio have been enhanced with bigger graphics on the front and side panels. It now has a dual tone coloured body in the 4 metallic colour options. It now comes with a mobile charging socket.
It also comes equipped with Combi Brake System (CBS) with equalizer technology. (As per Government regulations, CBS will be mandatory on all two-wheelers up to 125cc engine capacity from April 1, 2018). The Equalizer in Honda’s Combi Brake System distributes braking force proportionately between front and rear wheels simultaneously by pressing just the left lever. This results in reduced braking distance and improved balance. Powered by a 109cc Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine, the new Dio is now both AHO and BS-IV compliant.
