Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) launched a new fourth generation upgrade to their popular Activa 110cc automatic scooter. Highlights of the new model are that it is BSIV compliant and has an AHO function. The company launched the scooter for an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs. 50,730. Honda holds a majority share of 58pc in the automatic scooter segment, which is also the fastest growing segment of the Indian two wheeler industry.
Honda has refreshed the Activa in terms of looks and the new Activa 4G gets contemporary style elements like a front centre cover design. The new scooter also features a mobile charging socket, tubeless tyres, generous under seat storage and Convenient Lift up Independent Cover (CLIC) for ease of maintenance. The new Activa 4G also gets Honda's proven Combi Brake System (CBS) with an equaliser technology which becomes mandatory only from April 1, 2018.
Powering the new Activa 4G is the 109cc, single cylinder engine which is capable of producing 8bhp at 7500rpm and 9Nm of torque at 5500rpm. Honda has added two new colours to the lineup -- Matt Selene Silver Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic, which brings the total colours on offer to 7.
